Gabe was selected as a recipient of a college-sponsored National Merit Scholarship from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. College-sponsored scholarships are awarded by participating colleges and universities to National Merit Finalists who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and plan to attend the sponsoring institution.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is one of the nation's most competitive academic recognition programs. Students enter the competition through the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), with more than one million students participating nationwide each year. From that group, only a select number advance to Finalist standing and ultimately earn National Merit Scholarships.

This fall, Gabe will attend Rhodes College, where he plans to study Environmental Science and compete as a member of the college's Track & Field and Cross Country programs. Gabe's achievement reflects his dedication to academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to success both inside and outside the classroom.
